Green Juice on-the-go

Green Juice on-the-go

Last month, during the Nutrex Hawaii Health Summit event, I met two beautiful ladies that dedicate their time to spreading healthy eating. Julie Morris and Candice Kumai are natural food chefs, bestselling cookbook authors, and gorgeous from the inside out. Hanging out with those ladies for those couple of days, inspired me to turn my attitude towards my nutrition up a notch.

I eat pretty healthily for 80% of the time, but I’ve got to say that I wasn’t making it a priority on a daily basis. I wasn’t dedicating enough time on my schedule towards my nutrition, but it was always in the back of my mind that I needed and wanted to dedicate some quality time to shopping at the farmers market and preparing delicious fresh produce for the whole week.

Candice and Julie’s approachable and passionate way for healthy eating is truly contagious and stuck with me, so since I met them, every Tuesday afternoon I have been shopping at the farmers market close to my house. Then I go back home and spend at least 3 hours washing, cutting, and preparing the food for the whole week, and one of my favorite things that I have been able to do is prepare and freeze tons of green juice for the whole week too.

I know it is not the perfect situation, and I would love to drink a fresh squeezed green juice every day, however my daily crazy-busy-good schedule makes it harder to prepare a fresh juice every day, so having the juice ready in my freezer allows me to drink green juice anytime!

Ingredients for my green juice:

green-juice-kale
green-juice-carrot
green-juice-celery
green-juice-cucumber
green-juice-ginger
green-juice-ready
green-juice-mariane
green-juice-freeze

Few things:
  • I choose local and organic options whenever possible.
  • If I don’t drink the green juice first thing in the morning, then I usually drink it just after my morning workout, and I like to transform my green juice into a green smoothie by blending frozen green juice cubes with coconut water, banana, nuts, hemp seeds, strawberries, or blueberries.
  • Sorry, I don’t use a precise amount of each ingredient, because I am terrible on following recipes. But you can find awesome green drink recipes in Candice’s Green Clean Drinks and Julie’s Superfood Juices cookbooks!

some “drinks” are worth sharing…
