Keep Kaimana Safe for Everyone

In Feature, Lifestyle on
We love Kaimana Beach!

It is our favorite place to swim, to play with Sky, to potluck with friends, and to watch sunsets. It’s where we teach ocean run every Wednesday. So you get the picture that we frequent this little gem at least twice a week. And we are not the only Kaimana Beach lovers!
One of these lovers of Kaimana, after rescuing a green sea turtle that was entangled with fishing lines, started a petition to prohibit fishing within and along the Waikiki-Diamond Head shoreline area at all times.

Petition to prohibit fishing along the Waikiki-Diamond Head Beaches.
Why?

Because sometimes the fishermen leave behind their fishing lines and hooks that can hurt beach goers and the many endangered marine species that make those beaches their homes, like monk seals and green sea turtles. There are other appropriate places to fish in Hawaii, and Kaimana and the other neighboring beaches need our protection.

Thank you!

And see you at Kaimana swimming, ocean running, or delighting in one more sunset!
